Justice

"Let me tell you what justice is. Justice is the law. And the law is man's feeble attempt to lay down the principles of decency. "

Police officer jailed

MANAMA: A former police officer was yesterday sentenced to 14 years and seven months in jail for issuing dud cheques worth more than BD2 million. The First Lower Criminal Court indicted him on 14 counts of dud cheques issued to separate individuals. It then issued verdicts ranging between six months, one year and two years in prison.

Back in October 2004, this was reported by GDN

A senior ex-police officer appeared in court accused of cheating investors of nearly BD100,000 in a gold scam. He fled abroad and was eventually arrested by Interpol and brought back to Bahrain.

Quiz Time 12

Today's question is:
What do the authorities do to police officers and CID officers who break the law? Are they also punished? Or are their crimes covered up? Are they protected by the law perhaps? Or is it OK for the authorities to allow such forces to be part of the system and play a role in it to keep the population in check? You can't offer the same playing field to the oppressor and oppressed, can you?

Ahmed's Greetings!

Ahmed is clueless.

Ahmed doesn't know what has happened outside the cage he has been locked in since May 7, 2004, awaiting the Day of Judgement.

Ahmed doesn't know what has happened and how nature rebelled against the injustice of mankind in a spate of anger on Sunday, December 26, 2004.

Ahmed doesn't know what happened when a wall of water crushed the hopes and aspirations and dreams of millions of people from Thailand to Chennai.

And Ahmed truely is disorientated. We thought it was best if Ahmed did not remember the date. We thought it was better if Ahmed was hit hard on the head, hard enough to make him suffer from amnesia.

But Ahmed remembered. Ahmed remembered it was New Year's and sent a message through family who were allowed to visit him in his cage wishing everyone a Happy New Year.

What New Year?

How can anyone, any Bahraini, any human being, hold his head up high and usher in a New Year knowing that there is someone loved and dear to all is languishing in prison because of a failed and corrupt system?

My heart goes out to you. My tears will not dry until you are out and all those responsible for the ordeal you have been through are locked up like animals in cages. This is a personal crusade and all those who want to be on the side of right and justice can join the band wagon. Otherwise, I will fight this war alone.

This is all I want for New Year and for 2005 and beyond.

I want justice. I want blood. Like Hind, I want to hold Hamza's liver with my very own hands and eat it. And I don't want to hear anything from you animal lovers, because seriously...just seriously... I don't give a toss anymore.

Anyway, I don't want to get carried on.. I have a message, the message of the caged Ahmed, who wishes you all a Happy New Year.
